Our story
Our journey into the world of wine began in the winter of 2003. Olenos estate, located on the slopes of the legendary Mount Olympus in Elassona region, was founded by two friends and agronomists, George Lolas and George Ftikas who had the common vision of the renaissance of the historic vineyards of the region and the production of their own wine. Over the years, they managed to have 10 hectares of privately owned organic vineyards while their passion for viticulture and expertise in the field led to a branded product. The centerpiece now is wine, or “OENOS,” and Estate Olenos is the proof of their shared commitment. Their passion for winemaking was passed on to the next generation, and today, the second generation brings fresh ideas and new perspectives to the estate. They promise to carry on the tradition today, aspiring to evolve it into the future by fusing the unique terroir, knowledge, innovation, and experience. The primary concern of our work is respect for the environment, which we contribute to by using sustainable viticulture and winemaking techniques and eco-friendly growing practices. Our contemporary winery has been created with professional know-how and strict quality standards throughout production. One of the most important parts of the winery is the cellar, with architecture that combines comfort with traditional culture. It houses the oak barrels where Olenos Estate’s wines are aged at optimum conditions as well as the wine tasting room providing an unforgettable experience to the visitors. The unique ecosystem, the team effort, and the passion for evolution bring the desirable result; creating wines that pleasure the most demanding palate.
