In the land of the Muses, on the slopes of the Pieria mountains, in the reflections of the waters of the Aliakmonas River, myths, traditions, and Wine were born—Local Wine from Velventos—in harmony with the place, the people, and nature. It was there that Giannis Zandes chose, in 2005, to create his vineyards, which stretch from the small church of Agioi Apostoloi to the edge of the lake.
Ktima Zande, a modern vineyard of more than 85 stremmas, with varieties such as Xinomavro, Limniona, Merlot, Syrah, Malagousia, Chardonnay, Malvasia Aromatica, Assyrtiko, and Sauvignon Blanc, captures all the aromas of the mountain and the countryside, gifting Giannis Zandes’ wines with their unique character.
Harvest is a celebration, winemaking a ritual, and aging in oak barrels a link in the chain that transforms the estate’s wines into small daily pleasures of color, aroma, and flavor.
Today, his vision is continued by Evi Zande, a certified Chemical Engineer from the University of Patras and a food technologist.
